High Country Log Cabins

For many people, if you are going to have a mountain house, it just has to be a log cabin!  But we’ve come a long way from the old hand hewn logs and chinking with drafty rooms, today’s log homes can be as simple or as grand as you like, with a multitude of choices as far as logs and construction techniques.

There are many fine builders in the High Country who specialize in log and timberframe homes and have craftsman carpenters who can build rustic staircases, railings, vanities and cabinetry.  Log homes come in all price ranges and a variety of settings and can be found throughout the High Country–overlooking the New River in Ashe County or in scenic Valle Crucis or tucked away in a residential development or in a rural setting with some acreage attached.
